Description

This four panel antique scree has the famous Unkoku school style of painting. The artists name is unknown. A painting such as this with plum blossoms signifies the ‘first sign of spring’. The Heron and Cormorant on the rocks and the cock, hen and chick signify a whole family which is always used for a happy occasion. Circa: 1780 A.D. See additional photo of the signature found on part of the surrounding parchment.
